Is WordPress Right for You?

As most website owners know, WordPress is very popular but they might not know that WordPress is the most widely used blogging system and content management system (CMS) in use on the internet.

In fact WordPress is used by more than 800+ million websites worldwide and about a quarter of the top 10 million websites use WordPress software to power their websites and blogs. So saying that WordPress is popular is a very big understatement and the number of websites and blogs that are using it is growing each and every year.

Now that you know that WordPress is used on millions of websites you might be asking yourself if WordPress is right for you to use for your website’s software (that is if you aren’t using it already). Using WordPress has many nice advantages over many other similar software programs such as Drupal and Joomla.

Since it is the most widely used software for websites and blogs that means that there is a lot of people out there who are familiar with it and therefore you can usually always find any help that you might need with and questions you might have about it.

There are plugins to create contact forms, help speed up your site, add security features to your site, add pop ups for ads or newsletter sign up forms and many other things. In fact if you have seen something a website can do the chances are there is a WordPress plugin to make your website or blog have that feature.

To sum everything up, WordPress is comprised mainly of three main parts. There is the WordPress system software itself, whichever theme you choose to use for your website or blog and then any plugins that you choose to extend its abilities. Now you don’t have to use any plugins if you don’t want them, making your installation just two parts.

WordPress will work with just the main system software and whichever theme you want to use but the plugins add to the abilities and features of WordPress greatly. Most websites use at least a hand full (or more) of plugins so their site can have any certain features or requirements that the site owner wants to add to their site.

Given all the abilities built into WordPress along with the thousands of available themes and plugins, it can be used to build just about any type of website or blog site. This is one factor that contributes to it being the most widely used software that websites and blogs are build on around the world.

So is WordPress right for you? The odds are the answer to that question is “Yes”. Whether your site is a blog, forum, ecommerce website, business website or just about any other type of site, more than likely WordPress will be right for you.
